Delta Tau’s 3U format Turbo PMAC system combines the powerful features of the Turbo PMAC series with integrated packaging strategies, providing users with revolutionary flexibility and ease of use. The core of these systems is the 3U Turbo PMAC CPU board described in this manual. It can be assembled with a backpack mounted accessory board to form a “turbo stack”, or connected to a rack mounted accessory board to form a UMAC (Universal Motion and Automation Controller) turbocharging system. The UMAC system provides integrated connections and is easy to assemble, diagnose, and repair. UMAC can be paired with either of the two CPU boards – Turbo PMAC2 or MACRO Station. The Turbo PMAC2 CPU board creates a UMAC Turbo, a complete PMAC controller that can operate independently. Create a UMAC macro on the macro station CPU board. It is a remote slave node on the macro ring and requires the PMAC2 controller to command it through the ring.
